Licht – Nahrung – Wachstum – Transformation.

»Stella Maris«, „Stella Maris (Star of the Sea) is an invocation or prayer to Mary, Mother of Jesus. Called upon as such, she is also the patron saint of the seamen, embodying the guiding star that leads them away from danger, but also the star that navigates the individual soul safely on the ’Sea of Life’.“ (Wikipedia)
A stone circle - or rather a disc of flat Gneiss and granite erratic blocks joined together - symbolises a patch of snow in honour of Saint Mary of the snows. Painted upon it, a compass rose with fine blue lines aligned to the cardinal directions shows the way. It also points to Saint Mary of the Snows 30 degrees to the east. In her installation, Silvia M. Grossmann combines reflections on two great representations of Saint Mary: Saint Mary of the Snows and Stella Maris.

»Rosary«, Further up the Seckau pilgrimage route to Maria Schnee (Saint Mary of the Snows), a rosary consisting of 108 pine and stone pine cones has been laid upon a stone. Buddhist and Hindu rosaries contain 108 beads. Five coloured boxes drawn on the stone - green, yellow, blue, white and red - are reminiscent of the five colours that highlight the flags of the holy mantra: Om Ma Ni Pad Me Hum.
